The PARIS EST UNE POSE collective was born in 2022 under the leadership of Michael Mouilleron and Alex Almom, respectively an actor and a fashion student, but also professional live models*. Regulars in drawing, painting, and modeling workshops, they often found that the duos offered in art schools were systematically heteronormative or exclusively female. Frustrated by not being able to freely express their gender identity and sexual orientation through their art, they decided to create their own performance space.
Thus was born Paris Pose Bros (bros for brothers), a collective that organized a monthly drawing session featuring male duos in artists' studios. The success was immediate: both in person and online, around thirty artists, from Paris to Los Angeles, via Beijing and London, regularly participate in these sessions.
Eager to take things further, Alex and Michael then launched a Drink & Draw event in a queer bar, a venue that was both artistic and committed. Initially dedicated to male models, this evening quickly opened up to all queer models, thus affirming its inclusive nature.
Today, a new page is being written by renaming the collective PARIS EST UNE POSE for ever greater inclusivity.
